My passion to write children’s fiction, encompasses social and racial equality, loss, divorce, abuse, and anxiety, which brings about social awareness. Thus, providing positive tools and spiritual guidance through my collection of short stories and poetry.

JL Valentine resides where the sea breezes sweep through the blue skies of Huntington Beach, California. Her life has been a series of cascading events. As a child of the ’60s growing up, watching the first man walk on the moon, The Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War and the release of our POW soldiers’, including The Women’s Rights Movement have shaped Ms. Valentine’s writing by her activism. Since those formative years, her passion moved towards children’s fiction, encompassing social and racial equality, loss, divorce, abuse, and anxiety, to bring about social awareness. JL Valentine is an upcoming author with publications of short stories through Judy Blume and David Sedaris Masterclass and Writer’s Digest Annual Writing Competition.
